We stopped in for an early Sunday meal, and everything we ordered was delicious! We ordered three appetizers and a dessert. Everything was a work of art and delicious beyond expectations. The service was gracious, friendly and efficient. We will definitely return!

We went to this cute restaurant last night before going to a show. The food and service were great. But what I wanted to mention is that we rushed to go see the show and I didn’t realize I’d lost my silver bracelet and my friend lost her hat. I didn’t think I’d ever see that bracelet again but the wait staff were waiting for us with both the bracelet and the hat. Big smiles on their faces! What wonderful people! Thanks again

Always a solid experience at Black Lab. The food is always great and service is usually good. I’d say the Caesar salad needs some flavor, was really bland. Calamari, Brussels sprouts and dumplings were delicious. Had the seafood pasta for my entree and loved it. Cheesecake was a bit mealy, not creamy. Always an enjoyable night out!

A great little BYO in the heart of Phoenixville. This place seems to be run by a handful of people and they kept things flowing with a full dining room. Great menu with a lot of seafood offerings. Wish we had room to try more of the desserts (all house made except ice cream). Carrot cake was delectable. Thanks!

I went here for my birthday and had a wonderful relaxing quiet meal. We started with the pork wonton (sorry no photo. We ate them ). I had the pan seared scallops and my husband had the filet mignon. We both enjoyed our food. We finished with a pumpkin cheesecake and carrot cake with coffee. ...

I had dinner here tonight with my family. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. I had the pan roasted duck for my entree and the creme brulee for dessert. My sister enjoyed the filet mignon and the carrot cake for dessert. My brother absolutely loved the arugula salad and then the seafood platter. My parents loved the salmon and the butternut squash ravioli. We loved that the restaurant is family owned and everyone who works there was very kind. We will be back!

My wife and I were here for dinner on a Friday evening this fall (2023) and left the restaurant really pleased with our overall experience that explains this 5-star rating. In our view, the food was extremely good for prices that were reasonable by contrast. Sure I would like it if two jumbo lump crab cakes did not cost me 32 but given the price of crab cakes even at a grocery store, the price seems fair given the overheads any restaurant has. Our dinner consisted of two appetizers - the Maine lobster bisque and calamari - and two entrees - the jumbo lump crab cakes and a branzino filet (which was one of the two specials of the day). Each of the items was very well executed and portion sizes were generous. We didn't finish all of the lobster bisque and even then, we left completely full with no room for dessert at the end. Our total bill was 86 and with a tip, it came to 100. The restaurant is a BYOB which makes the place more affordable than other comparable restaurants. We brought a bottle of white wine with us and because we did not have time to refrigerate it at home, our server added some ice to the bucket holding our wine. That was a nice gesture. In general, the service was good, without being overbearing. There were no real downsides but one thing I might note is that the chairs weren't super comfortable. Personally I like sitting in booths but there are none here. The only other thing worth a mention is that being located right on Bridge St. and somewhat far from the nearest municipal parking lot, parking can be tricky at times. Fortunately, we found parking a few feet away from the entrance to the restaurant and I could even see our car from the table where we were seated. Overall, we had an excellent experience and this a place that we will add to our list of date-night favorites.

Love this place! I've been coming here for years and never had a less than great meal. Came in tonight with some family and the duck spring rolls and ribeye special and were fantastic. My family loved their crab cakes too. This intimate little BYO beats the crap out of all the brewpubs lining Bridge St. Don't sleep on this place!
